One of the most annoying things to me, as a consumer, is calling somewhere to request information and being told they’ll get back to me in a few weeks, or leaving a message and waiting days for a call back, or sending an email and getting a response a week later – or better yet, not being told anything at all!

I sent an email earlier last year and got a real response four months later!! I responded to that email within the hour, and now I’m waiting again. Maybe I’ll hear back in the next decade.

Half the time, by time we get the information we wanted, we can’t remember why we wanted it in the first place.

Your leads and prospects stay “hot” for a very, very, very short time. Think of your own buying experience and the moment you finally decide to buy something, or the moment you finally decide to book that vacation reservation! We want it now, now, and now!

One of the best things you can do to maximize sales/profits is to get promised information into the hands of your prospects and customers fast. My own clients know that I return calls or emails within 90 minutes during normal business hours, and consulting proposals are delivered hardcopy via FedEx within 48 hours. They love that kind of access and rapid responsiveness, and they’re willing to pay for it.

How can you put the pedal down and speed up response times within your organization?
