This comic might be a bit direct, but I’ve seen too many CEOs and Senior Executives engage in using blanket motivation as a means of fixing larger and far more serious issues. More often than not, workshops and seminars are carried out without first deciding on the improvements you want to achieve, or the desired results you want to gain.

What do I want to be different after I’ve spent time, effort, energy, and money on this activity?”

As Simon Sinek points out, we need to first “Start with Why.

Why am I doing this?

Why am I making them do it?”

Why do I think that will help?

Why do I think that’s the answer?

If you start with the end in mind,  you won’t get burnt.
