My top 10 ways to get banned from Google AdSense

Posted by: admin In: E-Commerce| Misc| Sites I Like| Technology

You’ve been banned from AdSense?

Every day I receive an email from someone asking me what they can do. They have been kicked out of the Google AdSense program and their account has been shut down.

The email they send out is fairly straightforward. Here’s a copy of it:

“It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on
the Google ads on your site(s). We have therefore disabled your Google
AdSense account. Please understand that this step was taken in an
effort to protect the interest of the AdWords advertisers.

A publisher’s site may not have invalid clicks on any ad(s), including
but not limited to clicks generated by:

- a publisher on his own web pages
- a publisher encouraging others to click on his ads
- automated clicking programs or any other deceptive software
- a publisher altering any portion of the ad code or changing the
layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason

Practices such as these are in violation of the Google AdSense Terms
and Conditions and program polices, which can be viewed at:

https://www.google.com/AdSense/localized-terms?hl=en_US
https://www.google.com/AdSense/policies?hl=en_US

Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed further
participation in AdSense and do not receive any further payment. The
earnings on your account will be properly returned to the affected
advertisers.”

Now some people will try and get their account restored but usually, once you’re out, you’re out for good. So if AdSense was earning you $10, $20, or even $30 dollars a day, you’ve now lost an important stream of revenue. And if you were new to the program, don’t cheat! You can get to the point where you’re making $10, $20, $30 bucks a day! I’m not going to dwell on this and I’m not going to share secrets about how to get your account back. Most of the time after some investigation the accounts have been banned for reasonable reasons. Google seems like a reasonable company to me!

Since many bloggers like top 10 lists, I thought I’d give my top 10 ways to get banned from Google AdSense. For the real list of rules, please click here.

Top 10 Ways to get banned from Google AdSense

1) Click your own ads
2) Ask friends to click your ads
3) Ask Grandma to click your ads
4) Click your own ads from public terminals like libraries and school
5) Posting a job on rentacoder and getting people from India to click your ads
6) Joining sites that promise to click your ads in exchange for clicking their ads
7) Putting your AdSense ads on sites that aren’t allowed according to Google’s Terms & Conditions (gambling, porn, drugs etc…) 8) Using proxy servers to click your own ads
9) Trying to put your ads into email
10) Using AdSense on pages that also contain ads from other advertisers (yahoo publisher program)

I guess what I’m trying to say is that if it looks to easy to make a quick few bucks then chances are it’s an action that may get you banned from AdSense.

AdSense can be an amazing program! It can literally make you hundreds of dollars a day! I’m not saying that it’s easy to make that much but it can be done! I know many people who do. Even if AdSense can help pay for your hosting and domain registration costs then it’s worth it. So don’t cheat it. Just follow the rules, test different ways of presenting your ads and check to see if you’re making any money.

As always, I’m available via the contact form, Ether or comment box to help out with your AdSense placement. I hope to hear from you.

On another day I’ll focus on Google AdSense alternatives. I want to write another post today on the new AdSense video ads.
