Make a second income this year selling 100% intangible products.

Just scroll down and look at the most watched eBay items.

Notice something? Do you see what I see?  According to eBay, the top selling items are all digital information products that address the following theme: “How to make money on eBay!”

Does this surprise anyone? It certainly doesn’t surprise me. After all, the first real money I made online was selling intangible digital products on eBay. I did try selling tangible products for a while. It was a straightforward process. I would buy an item and resell it at a markup.  What a pain!  Who wants to have a room full of inventory? This was a big hassle and an even bigger waste of time.  I suppose it would be worth it if you’re making a 50% profit on every sale with literally zero competition.

Now obviously the competition for selling digital products these days is huge. In fact, almost every digital product that someone creates eventually ends up on eBay with some guy selling it for $0.99.  However, I still believe this could be one of the easiest and fastest ways to start pulling in an online income.

My first successes on the Internet came after I created my own digital product and began selling it on eBay. I wasn’t even a professional on the topic, but with the wealth of knowledge and information on the Internet I knew I could learn. After some research, I was able to put together a 40-page, double-spaced electronic book in about one day. After I created my product, I spent another day seeing how successful “eBay Sales Pages” were created. I followed the already successful format and created my own sales copy and auction listing. Soon after my auction, with my electronic book selling at $19.95, was posted it began to sell daily! Each night I would go home and email the PDF book to my customers. It couldn’t get any better than that! During a two-year timeframe, I earned 600+ positive feedback and a ton of money. I’m still not sure why I stopped selling on eBay, but I did.

You can write about anything and make money!  Are you a professional photographer? Do you run a flower shop?  Are you a wedding cake designer in your spare time? Just about anything is a potential and profitable electronic book product!

Now obviously, as the pulse shows us, people are interested in products that will help them make money. Let’s say you’re interested in selling info products but simply have no time to create them yourself.  Maybe you don’t even know where to start! Well, not to give me a shameless plug but, two of my sites have the ability to help you get started. I’ll talk about one for now. The Rich-Jerks.com is an elite membership site. We’ve limited the site to only 200 members and it’s been an amazing success for all members. Each month members work together to discover and explore new opportunities to making money online. Every month we also provide a variety of new products that you can take and resell.  We do have a few open spaces right now.  It would be great to have you join! We’re not really jerks it just seemed like a fun, creative way to setup the sales copy at the time.

I’m not trying to say that selling physical tangible products is a dead end road; it’s just not for me.  Don’t get me wrong, you could be quite successful selling just about anything. For example, my father has made quite a bit of money selling classic cars! Here I am afraid to carry inventory and he’s buying and selling cars for profits half way across the world. He’s the one I wrote about in an earlier post whose actually sold pieces of scrap metal for profit.  I may have him write an article on his experiences for us.  There are two sides to the coin.

As a member of Rich Jerks, and with no commissions, and no incentives other than being able to network with another great marketer or great marketer to be, I want to “back up” what Noah said. I have gotten to the point where I almost never post on forums any more. It just isn’t beneficial to me in line with the time investment and wading through the drama and the flakes. But I post to the Private Rich Jerks forum.

I do it because it IS beneficial to me. Looking past the reams of reading material available, the tons of software, the private label materials, the resell items, the members only discounts the Noah finds for the group, the free hosting account and everything else that comes with my membershio, the number one biggest benefit is a rock solid forum, where you can network with SERIOUS marketers who are interested in growing their businesses, sharing ideas and working on joint projects. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

If you want to get involved in a serious group and read and post to a forum that will build you up, not knock you down or trip you…. Get on that waiting list.

Thank you for the background on Ebay…. I just realised, again, earlier this week, that I STILL don’t know a thing about Ebay! Your insights were interesting…

Angela.
