Camtasia on Mac

Posted by: admin In: Misc

This won’t make much sense to my regular readers unless you’re working on a mac and looking to use Camtasia.

I know this has been written about in various locations…I’ve searched for a long time to find a working solution to getting Camtasia Studio working on my Mac.

I’m pleased to write that after trying Bootcamp & Parallels on numerous times with so-so luck… I’ve now finally got Camtasia working on my mac in perfect form.
I download VMWare Fusion last week, reformatted my MacBook and did a clean install. I then installed VMWare Fusion and installed Windows XP SP2. After that I installed Camtasia Studio.
First few things to point out.

  1. Camtasia is working perfectly on my mac.
  2. VMWare Fusion is the best use of Windows on a Mac yet. Unless I’m totally missing something, this software runs windows like a bullet. WAY better than Parallels or Bootcamp.
  3. All drivers, audio, video recording are working flawlessly with Camtasia.

So yes, now you can finally properly run camtasia on a mac.
Cheers

Congratulations!
Does that mean that Camtasia can record the behavior of OS-X applications, or just other Windows aps installed under VMWare?
Any output samples out there?

Just VNC into your MAC from Xp or Vista and record it with Camtasia. Works beautifully!

I’m not able to run Audio Editor, Player, or Recorder in the Camtasia Studio from VMWare Fusion.

I’ve tried in both Unity Mode, and Single Window mode. Techsmith won’t support me b/c I’m running through Fusion.

Any ideas come to mind as what to troubleshoot?

thanks in advance - mark
